Each year, schools and public libraries across Australia spend a week celebrating books, and Australian authors and illustrators. Teachers and librarians conduct activities relating to a theme to highlight the importance of reading.
During this time schools, libraries, booksellers, authors, illustrators, and children celebrate Australian children’s literature and you will often see children’s book character parades and talented librarians creating amazing displays.
This year, book week is being held during the week of 18th to 24th August and this year’s theme is “Find your treasure”
